Certified Veterinary Practice Managers
VHMA certifies managers who earn the designation Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM). The process includes a comprehensive application, a written examination of multiple-choice questions and a commitment to ongoing education.
Fall Conference and Annual Business Meeting
Held each year in the fall, this conference features nationally prominent speakers who present the latest theories in practice management. Opportunities for networking and discussions continue during roundtable forums. Exhibitors display booths of special interest to veterinary hospital management.
Management Retreat
Held in the winter, this conference is a smaller seminar presented by VHMA members in attendance. Participants have the opportunity to share their experiences during informal discussions where there is opportunity for brainstorming and in-depth discussions throughout the weekend.
Summer Meeting
Held each year in the summer, the format of this meeting is one or two days with formal speakers. Opportunities for networking and discussions continue during roundtable forums.
Newsletter
The Editors of the VHMA newsletter solicit articles from members on the topics selected by the membership at the annual business meeting. It is published monthly and includes reports from the Board of Directors and Committee Chairpersons to keep the members informed about the business of the Association.

Mentor Program
VHMA offers a Mentor Program where newer managers have the opportunity to be paired with veteran managers for support and guidance.
Benchmark Surveys
VHMA regularly conducts a Compensation and Benefit Survey and provides for Practice Diagnostic Reports, as well as Client Satisfaction Surveys.
Online Career Center
VHMA's Web site, www.vhma.org, includes a Career Center where practice managers looking for positions and veterinary practice owners seeking qualified professionals can place a listing. Our Career Center is open to the public for posting and reviewing.
Veterinary Economics
A subscription to the Veterinary Economics magazine is provided to each VHMA member. Veterinary Economics is the preeminent management magazine in veterinary medicine.
Internet
The VHMA Web site is located at www.vhma.org. Current information on upcoming events and benefits can be obtained. Online registration for membership and conferences is available. Survey and form resources are also available, as well as additional networking opportunities through the message board.
Networking
Perhaps the greatest benefit to our members is the willingness of members to help each other. Some of the most experienced practice managers in the world belong to our association, and are willing to freely share their experience. The spirit of sharing and the goal of having fun when we are together makes VHMA unique. As we develop friendships between practices and help each other do a better job, we help the veterinary profession as a whole.
